Pictures and credits
There are no photographs on this site.
Every picture here (the hillfort side view, the bird’s-eye plan, the three rampart cross-sections, the four steps of a growing hillfort, the univallate and multivallate comparisons, the roundhouse, the logo, the favicon and the share image) is our own original, simplified drawing. They are not reconstructions or scale plans, and they are not traced or copied from any site plan, survey, guidebook, museum image or photograph. Only the labelled parts come from the sourced facts in each caption.
Charts and tables are our own layouts of figures quoted from the sources listed. Useless the eraser is the network’s own mascot. Fonts: Bricolage Grotesque, Newsreader and Kalam (SIL Open Font Licence), served from this site.

Their names, and the names of the hillforts they look after, are used only to identify the places and sources discussed. All pictures are our own simplified drawings: not reconstructions, not scale plans, and not copied from any site plan, guidebook or photograph.
